Additional Modules
Several additional modules are also available for all
Permabit Enterprise Archive installations.
High Availability
The High Availability (HA) module joins two access
nodes in a fault-tolerant configuration. One node
handles incoming and outgoing archive transactions,
while the second maintains an active journal of those
transactions. Should the primary node fail, the
secondary node assumes control and continues writing
information without data loss.
Replication
The Replication module is designed to address
operational and compliance requirements for the
replication of information to one or more remote sites.
A dedicated access node leverages SDR technologies to
ensure that replication is both fast and
efficient.
Retention Policies
The Retention Policies module provides WORM-based
information retention based on volume, file type, file
ownership, and group access criteria. Legacy
applications that are unaware of modern APIs for
specifying file immutability can still take advantage
of WORM protection without modification or custom
scripting.
Discovery
The Discovery module is based on technology from
industry leader FAST Search and
TransferTM. Discovery enables
fast, disk-based access to business-critical records via
a dedicated Discovery node. Advanced indexing and
search capabilities support both metadata- and
content-based search for 370 file types in 77
languages.
