Permabit Retention Policies Option
Safely Store Information to Meet Regulatory Requirements
Information retention has become a critical component of an effective archive solution. The objective is to keep information no longer than needed and no less than required. Within the Permabit Enterprise Archive™, applications can directly designate retention requirements for files in a WORM volume using a protocol defined on top of the ordinary volume operations.
The Permabit Enterprise Archive Retention Policies optional module enables you to configure WORM–based data retention based on volume, file type, file ownership, and group access criteria without requiring any third party application. This provides the flexibility needed for today’s enterprise.
By managing retention defaults based on the above criteria, any enterprise can deliver compliance and corporate governance objectives easily and without incremental staff resources. The retention policies module enables legacy applications that are unaware of modern APIs for specifying file immutability, to take advantage of WORM protection without modification or custom scripting. The retention module enables an efficient implementation that does not require continual staff resources to manage, saving you time and expense while minimizing your risk and exposure.
Permabit Features:
Flexible — Retention Policies can be set based on volume, file type, file ownership, and group access criteria.
Standard — Third party application retention policies can be enforced without Retention Policy Option.
